Furthermore, the President of the Cyprus Federation of America, Mr. Kyriacos Papastylianou, the President of HALC, Mr. Endy Zemenides, the President of AHI, Mr. Nick Larigakis, AHEPA Supreme President Mr. Chris Kaitson, Father Alex Karloutsos, as well as presidents and representatives of associations and organizations from the US, Greece, and Cyprus, were present.
During the Conference, attendees convened in the U.S. Capitol for a day of advocacy, where more than 30 members of the US Congress and US Senate addressed the assembly. Notable members included, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Democratic Whip Richard Durbin, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch, Senator Cory Booker, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. The US Congress and US Senate members addressed the assembly, expressing their support for the positions and the struggle of the Republic of Cyprus towards a resolution of our national struggle. Importantly, there was bipartisan condemnation of the intransigence of the Turkish invader and occupier.
Speakers also praised the bilateral relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the USA across political, military, commercial, and energy sectors, as well as Cyprus's participation in the 3+1 energy framework.
Lampousa congratulates PSEKA and all the contributors for the excellent organization—especially Philip Christopher, who for the past 52 years, is keeping members of the US Congress and Senate informed and aligned in support of Hellenism and a just solution to our Cyprus struggle.
