A Letter from Our President
Dear members and friends,
We hope our newsletter finds you all in good health and enjoying the heavy winter!
As spring approaches, we are looking forward to resume our efforts and activities which aim to continue our cultural, philanthropic and youth programs. Our youth-focused programs promote and preserve our cultural heritage and also help and support our struggle for justice for our beloved Cyprus.
Below is a listing of activities and events planned for this year. We encourage everyone to participate
and support these programs and events!
Youth Cultural Program - Our cultural committee under the direction of Dr. Eliana Antoniou already resumed the Cypriot dance lessons in January. The lessons for our children will continue every Saturday at St. John The Theologian church in Tenafly, NJ. We currently have 20 children attending and looking to make the group bigger! Please encourage your children to participate so they can make life-long friendships while learning our rich Greek Cypriot culture. In addition to dance lessons, the children are learning about geography and history of Cyprus. For information please call Dr. Eliana Antoniou at (973) 572-9497 or email her at youth@lampousa.org
Communications Committee - Our dynamic Communications committee let by Christos Christoudias along with Anastasia Gnardellis and Dr. Athena Patrikios, have done an amazing job updating the Lampousa website. Please visit www.lampousa.org to
see and explore our new amazing website. While visiting, please become a member by entering your email address and signing up

Dance Group Trip - On December 28th, the dance group children and parents/grandparents went on a trip to Madison Square Garden and enjoyed the "Twas the Night Before... by Cirque du Soleil" show. Lampousa subsidized part of the children's tickets and paid for the bus transportation and the children's dinner. Another fun trip is in the planning for the dance group after the "Taste of Cyprus" event.
Greek Independence Day Parade - This year's Parade is scheduled for Sunday, April 26. Like every year, Lampousa will provide a bus from St. John The Theologian church in Tenafly and will participate with the dance group to march in Cypriot costumes.
Taste of Cyprus Event - This year's "Taste of Cyprus" event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2 (3rd Saturday after Easter), at St. John The Theologian Church in Tenafly, NJ. As you know, this is a night full of Cypriot culture including traditional dancing by our youth dance group and authentic traditional Cypriot food! Please reserve the date and tell relatives and friends.
PSEKA Conference in Washington DC - This yearly conference which includes meetings with US Senators and members of Congress to protest the Turkish invasion and continued occupation of Cyprus will be held in June 9 to 11. Lampousa will be present and participate.

place on Sunday, July 19. Lampousa will be present and participate.
