Best Wishes for a Merry & Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2026!
Dear Members and Friends, December 2025
We hope our newsletter finds you well! As the year draws to a close and the Christmas and holiday season approaches, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and enthusiastic participation in our programs and events. Lampousa thrives because of you!
2025 Highlights:
➢Our youth-focused cultural program continues to flourish, offering free Cypriot folkloric
dance lessons and other cultural education activities.
➢Our children delivered outstanding performances at our events, including the successful “Taste of Cyprus” (May 3rd) and Dinner Dance/Horos tou Lemoniou (November 15th).
➢We had our general membership and elections on Sunday, September 28. See our new dynamic Board Members listed on the left of this newsletter!
➢We actively participated in various community events, strengthening our Greek and Cypriot bonds and contributing towards the efforts for freedom to our beloved Cyprus!
Looking Ahead to 2026:
Lampousa celebrates its 89th anniversary since its founding in 1937 and our mission remains steadfast:
➢Promote social fellowship among its members.
➢Promote and preserve our rich Greek Cypriot culture through cultural events and
cultural/educational programs for our youth.
➢Support its members and Cypriots in need of economic and moral support.
➢Advocate for freedom of all Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus, in coordination with the
Cyprus Federation and PSEKA.
We have tentatively scheduled the following events for the coming year:
➢Taste of Cyprus: Saturday, April 25th (2nd Saturday after Easter)
➢Greek Parade Participation: Sunday, March 26th
➢PSEKA Conference Participation: Washington D.C. (date to be announced).
➢Family Picnic: (date to be announced)
➢Dinner Dance/Horos tou Lemonou: (date to be announced for 2027)
➢Additional events (General Membership meeting, Cyprus Federation, PSEKA conferences, etc.) will also be announced later.
Cultural Program for our Youth: Our highlight remains the cultural program for our children featuring Cypriot folkloric dancing, Cypriot history and geography, and educational day trips - free for member families, including pizza lunch at every dance lesson! Special thanks to Dr. Eliana Antoniou, our cultural program director, for inspiring our children to embrace and learn our Cypriot roots! We look forward to resuming our program in January.
We believe in our responsibility to educate our children about our rich Greek Cypriot heritage, customs, and the unjust Turkish invasion and occupation of our land.
We look forward to seeing everyone at Lampousa’s upcoming events!
