The Lampousa Cypriot American Association is proud to have served as a sponsor of the Greek Sing-Along Concert held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC), an event organized by the Elytis Chair Fund and the Modern Greek Studies Program at Rutgers University.

The evening brought together supporters of Greek culture, students, alumni, and community organizations in a warm and welcoming atmosphere—despite the sub-freezing temperatures outside. Guests enjoyed a festive cocktail hour, an engaging multimedia performance, and a dessert reception.

A Night of Music and Community

The concert featured renowned vocalist Grigoris Maninakis and the Mikrokosmos Ensemble, joined by guest singers Angeliki Psonis and Nikitas Tampakis. Their musical selections created a powerful, nostalgic ambiance that resonated deeply with attendees.

Lampousa President Stavros Kamilaris, who attended with members of the organization, expressed his appreciation in a message to the Elytis Chair Fund:

“It was indeed a warm, welcoming and organized event… I loved the songs and my good friend Grigoris Maninakis! The program was really enjoyable!”
— Stavros Kamilaris, President, Lampousa Cypriot American Association

Impact and Fundraising Success
According to event organizers, the benefit surpassed expectations:
- 130 tickets sold, generating approximately $20,000 in revenue
- More than $30,000 in additional donations made directly to the Endowed Elytis Chair Fund
- 22 Modern Greek Studies students and alumni were able to attend thanks to sponsor-donated tickets
- Coverage of the event appeared in Greek-American media, including Anamniseis and the National Herald

These proceeds directly support the Elytis Chair Fund at the Rutgers Foundation, which sustains the Modern Greek Studies Program, advancing the study, teaching, and preservation of Greek language and culture at Rutgers University.
